What the app stores

Your sentences, their breakdowns, tags, review progress, pronunciation attempts and cached audio are stored on your device. If you use iCloud Backup, Apple backs them up in your own iCloud account. Sentopoly has no accounts and no user database.

What leaves your device

Translation. When you add a sentence, its text is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (Claude) to produce the translation and word breakdown. The text is not stored by us.

Voices. Sentence and word text is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech to produce audio, which is cached on your device.

Pronunciation scoring. When you use Shadow, a short recording of your voice (up to 30 seconds) is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech for scoring and is not retained by us. Recordings are kept on your device only.

Speech recognition for dictation uses Apple’s on-device or Apple-hosted recognition under Apple’s terms.

Requests carry a random device identifier used only to apply fair-use limits. No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no selling of data.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We receive no payment details.
